iBOOD stands for Internet’s Best Online Offer Daily. Since 2005, we have been all about surprisingly good deals, special products and that daily feeling of: let’s see what’s online today. iBOOD is an independent European deal platform that collects temporary offers from well-known A-brands every day. From tech and smart home to tools, kitchen appliances, outdoor gear, trainers and fashion: the offer is constantly changing.
On 26 September 2005, Europe’s very first daily deal went live. Every night at 00:00, one new deal from an A-brand appeared online at the sharpest price we could find. The term “daily deal” had yet to emerge at the time, but it quickly became a phenomenon.
And to be honest: we never expected this when we started.
How does iBOOD work?
The idea behind iBOOD is still the same as it was back then: we look for eye-catching deals from well-known brands and offer them temporarily at a sharp price. Sometimes they are gone within a few hours, sometimes they stay online a little longer. But the offer is constantly changing. As a result, iBOOD feels less like a traditional webshop and more like a place where you discover something new every day.
Think tech deals from brands like Apple and Samsung, tools from DeWalt and Makita, or fashion and lifestyle from brands like Lacoste. No day is the same here. And that is exactly the point.
What is iBOOD known for?
Probably mostly for deals. Lots of deals. But also for the community around them. Early on, visitors could discuss deals, share experiences and ask questions on the product forum. That grew into one of the things iBOOD really became known for.
Even better: regularly, a Product Expert from the brand would join the forum to answer questions directly. Not standard customer service answers, but someone who actually knew the product. That turned out to be a hit.
How did iBOOD grow?
Quite quickly, actually. After the Netherlands, iBOOD expanded to Belgium, Germany, Austria, Poland, the United Kingdom and Ireland, among others. In Germany, iBOOD even won the ComputerBild Testsieger designation in 2008.
And in the Netherlands? There, the community voted iBOOD Website of the Year in 2009. An award that iBOOD went on to win several more times.
What is the iBOOD Hunt?
If you have been visiting iBOOD for a while, you definitely know it: the iBOOD Hunt. During the Hunt, deals follow each other in rapid succession. As soon as a deal is sold out or the timer runs out, the next offer immediately appears. Fast, chaotic and surprisingly addictive.
And then, of course, there was the legendary iBOOD BOX. A mysterious box full of unknown products that was so popular that our servers sometimes spontaneously fell over. Good times. 😉
Has iBOOD always stayed the same?
Absolutely not. Over the years, iBOOD grew considerably. In 2012, additional categories were added, such as Home & Living and Health & Beauty, later followed by many more types of deals.
In October 2014, a completely revamped platform went live: the site you are looking at now. A big step forward, because believe us: for years, visitors had been asking for things like a shopping cart or product variations in different sizes and colours. That sounds perfectly normal now, but once upon a time, it was pure science fiction here. 😉
In 2015, a new phase of growth followed and iBOOD continued to develop. Behind the scenes, more and more people joined with the same mission: to find the best deals on the web every day. Later, new categories were added, such as DIY deals and even travel deals.
In 2019, management bought back iBOOD together with investor Walvis. Since then, the focus has returned fully to iBOOD as a brand, entrepreneurship and, of course: deals.
Why do people visit iBOOD every day?
Because there is always something new. Some visitors come specifically for a good tech deal. Others simply scroll through the latest offers during lunch or on the way home.
And sometimes you discover a product here that you did not know you wanted five minutes earlier. That is exactly the idea.
