Unlike many other types of kiwi, the kiwi plant (Actinidia deliciosa) 'Jenny' is self-pollinating. This means that you do not need to plant a male and female kiwi plant for them to bear fruit.

It takes a few years for the kiwis to start growing, namely after 3 to 4 years. However, once the plant has started growing kiwis, many delicious fruits will follow in the coming years. In addition to the delicious kiwis, the plant has beautiful white-pink flowers in May and June that bring the garden to life. To keep the kiwis as sweet as possible, it is important to leave the kiwis on the kiwi plant for as long as possible. The kiwis can be harvested in October and November.

Care

Actinidia deliciosa prefers a sunny spot in the garden. The plant is best pruned in December or January. This keeps the plant in shape and promotes fruit set. Actinidia deliciosa is hardy but deciduous.
